About the Song
Lyrics
From our country’s very beginning, the hand of the Lord has been present to make this a land of liberty. The words of Anthem to America began coming into my mind while reading the book, The Light and the Glory, by Peter Marshall and David Manuel. I was so impressed when I learned that early settlers only survived when their desires were to serve the God of this land. This song expressed my love of my country, my firm belief that He still watches over and guides this nation, and that our devotion to Him will keep us free forever.
Along the path of Patriots
We prayerfully have trod,
With Puritans and Pilgrims
Who have trusted in their God.
Our Founding Fathers set their names
To gain our liberty;
America, we’ll give our lives
For our posterity.
