Homework Rap
Lyrics By: Gail H. Johnsen
About the Song
Lyrics
Homework Rap was prepared for a back to school night to encourage teenagers to establish habits that would help them be more successful in school.
Hand out copies of this rap in advance because once you start rapping everyone will want to join. They love it.
Do it a second time for extra fun.
My daughter went around for days saying, "Shop/accessorize!"
Find some Rap music to accompany these words, probably something in 4/4 time.
It's so important to be organized!
It's so much easier than you realize!
A place for everything;
And things in their place,
Give your things a home;'
They need a space!
Retire to your bed
And get some sleep.
Wake up refreshed,
Your commitments to keep
Keep track of work
By writing it down,
Be a good student,
Best in town.
Don't do that homework
While lying on your bed.
You'll fall asleep--
Okay, enough said.
Take good notes,
While you're still in class.
You don't want to flunk out
You want to pass!
Be on time with work;
Don't procrastinate.
But turn it in anyway,
Even if it's late!
Find a place to work,
Away from all the noise.
Don't answer that phone,
'Cuz it's just a bunch of boys.
Your homework's done,
So you know you're free.
Now everything's more fun.
I know you agree.
Keep you're room clean,
It's your very own space.
Say proudly to your friends,
"This is my place!"
It's all so easy,
Now just go organize.
You'll have more time
to shop/accessorize!
So here's the motto;
Do it! Don't wait.
Start today because
Tomorrow's too late!
